Hi there! Thanks for visiting New Era of Sarah. I started this healthy living blog to help inspire others to reach their personal goals regarding weight loss and fitness through helpful hints, recipes, and sharing my successes.
I have been overweight my entire life. By the time I was 8 years old I was already over 100 lbs and was almost 250 lbs by the time I graduated high school. I eventually hit my highest weight of 265 lbs at the age of 28. I never understood the importance of making good choices in regard to food and staying active. I was almost 30 by the time I decided to make some real changes. I tried dieting and went up and down and lost/gained repeatedly. In 2012 I began researching nutrition and tried exercise for the first time in my entire life. After losing an initial 30 lbs and gaining it all back I began a sustainable lifestyle change in 2014 that has resulted in a 100 lb weight loss as of Fall 2015. (I’m not stopping yet!)
I’m a newlywed and live in Southern Louisiana with my husband and our two dogs. I love live music, all animals, cooking, photography, nutrition, psychology, and am an advocate for ovarian cancer awareness after being diagnosed at age 19.
